This scene is masterpiece status. When I was at the theatre watching this my mouth dropped ❤️.

Such an amazing movie. This ending scene with the acting and music, is just icing on the cake. Great movie.

Beginning scene,Scofield lied under the tree. And the last scene,he lied under the tree again just like beginning scene. I think the saddest point is that is not the end of war. Just the end of order. sorry,Im Japanese so my English is not good...

0:00 to 1:25 - me every morning before going to work. Don't be naive, these adventures and the main characters role are not the most original we've seen in a film about war. There are two heroes who are given a mission, and have to save 1,600 soldiers of a company, before they fall in a bloody trap. The true success of this film, and what gets it to the top is the outstanding cinematographic demonstration that happens and that takes our breath away. In a continous flow, without cutting, as if we were there, we track the two heroes in their adventure, crossing-over a wide range of sceneries, all around France. We are totally immersed in the 1917 trench warfare and its worst horrors. Throughout this story, we perceive the main characters' emotions and acts of humanity they do, but we immediately go back to the hard and sad reality of World War 1. The incredible shots of this film sometimes make it look like we are in a video game but that doesn't tarnish the experience, quite the opposite, it increases the public's emotions and interest. So, 2 stars less because of the banality of the story but what we keep in mind is the phenomenal cinematographic demonstration.

Movie starts with them resting near two trees to show their connection. The movie ends with only one showing how a half of him was taken. Saw it yesterday - quite simply the most spectacular war film of all time. The CGI looks much better on the BIG SCREEN... Incredible cinematography. Great work Sam. 1917 (2020. I saw it yesterday it was amazing and to Know that it's based on the story told by the grandfather of the director Sam Mendes.

This is such a good trailer! I enjoy the authenticity of the movie and how it still manages to show everyone what actually went down those days in America.

Thomas Newman outdid himself as always, His scores are beautiful. I was rooting so hard for Schofield when hes pushing his way through the soldiers and hes the only one who knows theyre going to their deaths. This reminded me of children of men. This just made my top 5 and I've watched hundreds of great movies. Master class. I just finished the movie it was pretty cool. You can't possibly make it that way, you bloody insane. The tree of life. Outstanding movie. When Robb became Tommen's brother instead... 1917 proves that great film's can be made. It shows that putting a little more time and effort can turn something that good into something that great. This film is by far my favorite film of 2019. This film is shot to appear as one long take. This approach is not only fasanating but adds so much to the story. You immediately feel the tention due to a strict time restraint due to the plot. As these characters get further to their goal, you can't help but realize the time is ticking. Following their ENTIRE journey because of the one shot makes this film feel like it's you going on this mission with these other soldiers. 1917 is a true masterpiece and should be looked upon as inspiration for those who make film.

In my top 3 favorite movies of all time, simply a masterpiece imo. Parasite was kind of a bad movie imo Joker or 1917 should have won best picture At least they both won a lot of Oscars. Will is like if Ron weasley from Harry Potter had a baby with Elon musk.
